Potcast 105: Voices of Harvest

Farmers face an expansive list of chores and challenges during the final weeks of harvest. So I’ve set out to capture stories of harvesting the flower that will eventually become the medicine that you and I buy. Over the next several weeks I’m sharing voices of harvest with you to give a better understanding of what it means to be a cannabis farmer. Understanding brings appreciation, and ultimately I hope your reverence for craft cannabis will grow as big and beautiful as the colas I saw in Humboldt this week.

Happy Harvest,

Jo

‘After the Show’ Notes

Enjoy the photo album of my recent harvest trip and the friends I caught up with along the way. While following around some of my favorite farmers asking them questions I captured a few show and tell videos for you green thumbs. Watch for harvest tips from heritage sun-grown farmers in Humboldt.

Here's one method used by a second-generation cannabis farmer in southern Humboldt. The pistils and the calyxes make up the "flower" part of the plant, that will eventually be harvested, dried and cured and ultimately will be ready for consumption. Most of the cannabinoids are concentrated in the flower.

This third-generation Humboldt cannabis farmer thought it would be fun to add some older genetics to his line of strains. This is Grandpa's Stash: a 1970 Afghan Kush x 1992 Super Skunk x 1994 OG. Hear the Voices of Harvest on Casually Baked, the potcast. Connect on social: @casuallybaked
