A life well-lived is your own personal recipe.

BUT DON’T LEAVE OUT THESE ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS:

  • Mindful Breathing

  • Daily Laughter

  • Meditation or Quiet Reflection

  • Eating Fruits and Veggies daily. (Try Leslie’s lean green shake recipe below if you struggle getting your daily dose of the good stuff!)

  • Eliminating processed foods out of your diet

  • Using plant medicine over pharmaceuticals whenever possible

  • Practice mindful movement (aka casual yoga) throughout the day

  • Be sure to scoop your tailbone under and suck your belly button in toward your spine to practice alignment and strengthen your core


Leslie’s Lean Green Shake Recipe

Are you spending too much money on juices and smoothies every week? Consider investing a couple hundred dollars in a refurbished Vitamix and make this lean green meal replacement for yourself instead. You’ll be saving money before you know it while feeling good AF.

Leslie says to start with a little water in your Vitamix so you’re not drinking sludge.

And then add the following organic and washed ingredients:

  • 1 whole apple, cored (don’t eat the seeds)

  • 1 whole lemon with the peel

  • 1 bunch of cilantro

  • 1 bunch of parsley

  • 1 bunch of kale

  • A few celery stalks

  • A couple of carrots (with green tops)

  • Broccoli stalk (save the flowers and cook them for dinner)

  • 1 finger of turmeric root (shave off the peel)

  • 1 finger of ginger root (shave off the peel)

  • 1/2 cucumber (remove the waxy peel)

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • Himalayan pink salt

  • Black pepper

  • 1 heaping tablespoon of virgin unrefined coconut oil (or your favorite MCT oil)

  • Add pineapple to taste. It’s no fun drinking something that tastes like shit, so add as much pineapple as you need to sweeten the smoothie.

  • Jo’s casually baked suggestion if you grow your own cannabis: Add a couple of raw cannabis flowers (harvested when the THC glands are clear rather than amber) and a handful of the fresh leaves for a non-psychoactive booster of phyto-cannabinoids THCA, CBDA, and CBGA.

    • The flowers pack more of a nutritional punch than the leaves but they’re both good for you.

    • Cannabis is technically a vegetable with many of the same nutrients as other leafy greens (like fiber, iron and calcium).

    • But cannabis is also jam-packed with cannabinoids that assist with immune system function, provide anti-inflammatory benefits, and improve bone metabolism and neural function. In fact, research has shown cannabis may even help inhibit cancer cell growth.
