Potcast 244: Get Enlifted and Shed the Victim Mentality
On a somewhat recent encounter out in the wild, I met today’s guest. I resonated with his words and energy and went down the rabbit hole of thinking about my thinking and the stories that I tell about the situations in my life. I also began examining more closely the language that I use about the future of the cannabis industry.
Mark England is the co-founder and head coach of Enlifted. For the past 16 years, Mark has researched, presented and coached others on the power of words and stories. Mark holds a Masters degree in Education and was an Elementary school P.E. teacher before shifting into personal development. At Enlifted, Mark and his team certify coaches on how to dismantle the Victim Mentality and then what to do with their clients once they’ve done that. Prior to Enlifted, Mark co-founded Procabulary, the languaged-focused training course that I took which details out the language patterns most often used that work against us.
In today’s potcast we discuss those patterns, learned helplessness, how to recognize the victim mentality and how to make shifts in your thinking and language choices in order to manifest what you want in your life. And Mark shares how our words influence us for better and for worse on a mechanical macro level.
If you have habitual thoughts that aren’t serving you, this potcast is for you. It’s also for the positive evolution of the cannabis industry and culture.
Mark and I workshop a sentence that I tend to repeat a lot that doesn’t serve the future of cannabis that I want to see. By the end of this chat I suspect you’ll be curiously analyzing your own internal and external dialogue. And that’s the gateway to getting more of what you want in life. So smoke ‘em if you got ‘em and settle in. It’s time to get casually baked.

I’m excited for you to play with your words and notice their power. And I hope you’re inspired to share Potcast 244 with your smoke circle because it is way more fun to grow together.
Your words influence your body! And the goal is to use language to remove unnecessary pain, confusion and stress from your life.
Your language influences your imagination, your posture, your feelings/emotions, and your breath.
Tips for Integrating Procabulary
Think About Your Thinking! Write it down. Don’t believe it. Analyze it. Are you leaning on SOFT TALK, NEGATIONS, and/or PROJECTIONS?
Be Strategic - Create with Purpose!
Practice with Kindness. I began noticing my sloppy word choices along with everyone else’s. I find that the best thing for me to do is lead by example, not to futilely try to get someone out of the victim mentality and the spiral of their own stories. Mark’s advice - get involved if you can be of service, otherwise, stay out of it (whatever “it” is). Sympathy is outsourcing control of our feelings to others. Enlifted is empowered.
Self Coach. Catch and correct yourself when you hear soft talk, negations, and projections coming out of your mouth. Continue to write shit down.
Have Fun! Gauge and celebrate your growth - and notice what’s manifesting in your life as a result. Let transforming your language be a game that improves your life and brings you more of what you want!
I also encourage you to join me in creating better language around one of the most healing plants known to humankind.
