Potcast 230: Surviving the American Healthcare System (Part 2)
The Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law on August 16, 2022. The law will raise $737 billion and authorize $369 billion in spending on energy and climate change, $300 billion in deficit reduction, three years of Affordable Care Act subsidies, prescription drug reform to lower prices, and tax reform.[1]
Now, you and I weren’t born yesterday, so we know that “raising $737 billion” means it’s coming out of our pockets and noses and every other available orifice the government can deem taxable. I do not use my platform as a political megaphone, but I certainly focus on health, wellness, and personal sovereignty. So I called up today’s guest to pull back the curtain on the healthcare components of the Inflation Reduction Act. To survive the American Healthcare System, we must remain diligently aware of the policies being created in the name of public health.
David Wilcox is the doctorate-prepared nursing professional you first met on Potcast 205, where he shared decades of experience and the inside track on keeping ourselves safe inside our broken healthcare system. Dr. David believes proactive patient education enables those accessing the healthcare system to be better partners in their health care. He also shares free resources with us for finding the most affordable prescription prices and checking the track records of our doctors, surgeons, and hospitals. He explains the aftermath of the Covid fiasco on our healthcare workers and how care is currently evolving.
If you’ve listened to this show for a while, you hear me say that our micro choices become the macro of our lives. To me, being in the driver's seat of your wellness routine and healthcare decisions is the only way to go. So invite you to grab the steering wheel and buckle up. It’s time to get casually baked.
