‘After the Show’ Notes

Danny Murr-Sloat, co-founder of AlpinStash

Born and raised in Boulder, Colo., 20-year-old Danny Murr-Sloat was suffering from chronic stomach pains and debilitating illness. Despite several extended hospitalizations, doctors were unable to deliver a correct diagnosis and began treating him with increasingly heavy doses of opiate pain medications. Further complications included thoracic outlet syndrome and a non-cancerous brain tumor, both of which required surgeries to fix coupled with ever-growing doses of medication.

By 2009, he was taking 19 different prescriptions, becoming obese, disengaged with life, and falling deeper into depression.

Upon his father's insistence, Danny obtained a medical cannabis card and visited one of Boulder’s first dispensaries. There, he received a Grand Daddy Purple clone to serve his attempts at a cannabologic approach. After beginning cannabis treatments, Danny’s life changed rapidly. Growing cannabis became a reason to get out of bed and helped Danny create improvements to his health. By mid 2010, Danny lost 70 pounds and weaned himself off of pain medications completely. He credits using and growing cannabis with saving his life and has since dedicated his life to helping others heal with cannabis.

Now an inspired and passionate grower with help from his team, Danny has worked diligently to develop his Colorado grow AlpinStash. And, with the help of his wife Kristin who joined AlpinStash to help expand operations, AlpinStash is a true family-run business and full-fledged licensed Colorado recreational grow. Kristin is also a Women Grow advocate, MMJ beneficiary, and former administrative director for a commercial cannabis bakery.

Refining the techniques Danny used in his self-healing journey, AlpinStash now produces some of the finest craft cannabis in the state of Colorado. Rooted in a mission to provide the cleanest, safest, non-toxic product, AlpinStash harvests 3,000 square feet of indoor cannabis using state-of-the-art HVAC systems supplied by Surna and sustainably sourced nutrient systems from Nectar for the Gods, in addition to house crafted compost teas and live soil. The harvests are small-batch to ensure the highest level of attention and quality.

This strong focus on quality also enables AlpinStash to be far ahead of regulatory compliance standards.  Not only is AlpinStash 100 percent compliant with all Colorado state regulations, they pride themselves on staying ahead of the compliance and the regulatory curve; there’s no need to skirt regulations when this level of quality is of utmost importance. AlpinStash now provides educational resources, consulting and grow facility tours to parties interested in learning expert, licensed craft cannabis practices.

“Healthy plants help create healthy people, so we focus on quality first. We use all organic, natural nutrients, zero chemicals and we hand trim our cannabis and glass cure it to perfection,” says Danny. “With an emphasis on quality over quantity, we cultivate environmentally responsible cannabis in a way large scale competitors can’t accomplish.”

AlpinStash also harvests several unique cultivars, like Danny’s Jack Herer CBD “Django,” a cross including Cannatonic and Pennywise that yields elevated levels of cannabidiol to mellow out the super-energetic and euphoric Haze qualities of traditional Herer. And there’s their sweet grape wine and loam scented Indica-dominant “Lemmiwinks,” a cross of Crouching Tiger Hidden Alien and White Rhino that tastes of diesel, earth, grape and flowers that can be seen sporting gorgeous purple, green and pink weighty buds in one of Danny’s many transparent and informative AlpinStash YouTube videos.

AlpinStash strains garner great reviews and many of the farm’s remarkable harvests are commissioned by Colorado’s leading solventless hash producers, Essential Extracts and Kush Masters, for further extraction into concentrates. The products are available at retail dispensaries across the state.

With unique and innovative collaborations and more developments evolving, AlpinStash is setting the standard for artisanal cannabis production. With the addition of Danny’s assistant grower, Silvia Anchondo, AlpinStash is operated primarily by women. Between the plants and people, the farm is packed with divine feminine energy, a hallmark of the modern cannabis industry.
