Potcast 130: Casual Cannabis Gardening

April is here, and y’all, even in a pandemic, spring has sprung. The forced slow down, and human separation has created an opportunity to deepen our connections with nature. We’re digging into casual cannabis gardening with my name twin, Johanna Silver, a James Beard Award-winning author who writes mostly about plants and people. Johanna’s second book, Growing Weed in the Garden: A No-Fuss, Seed-to-Stash Guide to Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation, was released at the end of March, just in time for your spring planting projects.

‘After the Show” Notes

Johanna Silver wrote an easy-to-understand, jargon-free guide to casually growing cannabis in your garden. It includes the simplest, most effective techniques that involve the least amount of equipment.

Whether you decide to grow cannabis or cucumbers, it’s a wonderful time to nurture your relationship with nature.

Johanna is a James Beard Award-winning author who writes mostly about plants and people. Her first book, The Bold Dry Garden: Lessons from the Ruth Bancroft Garden (Timber Press) is available everywhere books are sold.

Johanna is a contributing editor at Better Homes & Gardens, and her work has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, The San Francisco Chronicle, and Alta Journal of California. Previously, Johanna spent ten years Sunset Magazine, beginning with a shovel in her hands and culminating as head of the garden department. In 2016, she oversaw the creation of new editorial test gardens as part of the brand's historic move from Menlo Park to Oakland and Sonoma.

Johanna’s second book, Growing Weed in the Garden: A No-Fuss, Seed-to-Stash Guide to Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation (Abrams) was released at the end of March, just in time for your spring planting projects.
